Well, since you didn't give any info about your system in the first
place - I have to make an assumption.
Windows XP is OK.
You may look at this Windows PlayHLS installation post which has
pictures
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?103143-The-New-HSL-files-on-windows-PC&p=807195&viewfull=1#post807195
To get the HLS stream you need twoparts
1. PlayHLS plugin installedin LMS
2. ffpmeg installed to support the plugin.
Step 1 - How to install PlayHLS plugin.
1. Using PC Browser open a Web GUI Settings Windows and click on Plugins
Tab.
2. Scroll down the page and beside "Additional repositories" past the
following URL into an empty box
http://bpaplugins.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/repo-playhls.xml and click
Apply
3. You should now have an entry for PlayHLS plugin and an unchecked
check box . Check the "enable" box on the same lines as the PlayHLS
plugin and click Apply.
4. I don't know about windows but LMS needs to be restarted and you may
need to do that from the LMS Control panel.
Step 2.
1. You need ffmpeg.exe on your system. To install that you may need to
install 7Zip utility which can be found here http://www.7-zip.org
2. The ffmpeg.exe can be found here - http://ffmpeg.zeranoe.com/builds/
Download the relevent file and use 7zip to unpack.
3. Use windows to find the faad.exe and sox.exe in your LMS
installation. It will be a directory something like C:\Program Files
(x86)\Squeezebox\server\Bin\MSWin32-x86-multi-thread
Copy the downbloaded ffmpeg.exe into the LMS Bin directory alongside
faad.exe.
Step 3. Checkingthat Plugin is installed
1. Restart LMS.from control panel
2. After LMS has restarted, on the LMS WebGui; go to 'Settings', and
select the 'Plugins' tab. Check the PlyHLS plugis is enabled - if not
check the enable box and click Apply.
3. Check that Plugin has been installed correctly by looking LMS WebGui;
go to 'Settings", and then select "Advanced".
Select "File Types" from the drop down box on Top Right. Scroll down
until you see "Apple HLS m3u8" there should be a entries with "ffmpeg".
They should not be greyed out or disabled.
